The Business Development Leader, Comms Sector, has overall responsibility and leadership for developing, negotiating, and selling business opportunities for the Communications Sector (TME - Telco, Media & Entertainment - & Utilities). The profile requires a high level of self-motivation in the conception, creation, and design of the business to be developed and sold. Sales from start to finish must be achieved under their leadership by developing commercial relationships with the various decision-making levels of the client organization (Managers, Directors, C-Levels), for which they must demonstrate proven prior experience in achieving this.
They lead sales engagements, selling solutions to meet complex business requirements. They are required to have a solid understanding of the client's business, objectives, strategies, and directions.
A detailed understanding of trends and directions in the TME and/or Utilities industries, as well as competitive strategies and offerings, is essential. Partnering with other companies is common to enhance the IBM solution or the client relationship.
Part of your responsibility for the business development and sales process includes working with IBM Client Partners. Once an opportunity is qualified, you are responsible for coordinating the sales solution team, managing the opportunity's team and budget.
You must also manage the client relationship, participate in complex solutions, establish highly competitive commercial strategies, and close the opportunity.
You must demonstrate a clear understanding of the client's business, organization, and culture. Additionally, you will work and manage relationships with external vendors and/or business partners, if applicable.
This role must demonstrate outstanding team leadership characteristics, exceptional business acumen, demonstrate executive presence, and be creative enough to devise and articulate a unique, compelling, and winning value proposition for the client's decision-makers.
- Business acumen in the TME (Telco, Media & Entertainment) and/or Utilities industries with in-depth knowledge of their strategic business drivers, global and local trends, operating models, and the role of technology as a driver of transformation.
- Consultative salesperson who develops deep relationships and adds long-term value to the client's business.
- Business developer capable of forging decision-making relationships with different levels of the client organization (Managers, Directors, C-Levels).
- Track record in developing a diverse portfolio of business opportunities (Business & IT Consulting, AMS and/or BPO) and building client relationships.
- Expert in account strategy and planning, and long-term relationship strategy.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Establishment of competitive business strategies and development of business cases with direct and indirect benefits and business models that integrate operations and technology.
- Basic understanding of IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, and cloud computing, supporting service transformation.
- Languages: Advanced English/Bilingual.
