Software Architect, IBM Corporation, San Jose, CA (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted)
- Define the product/solution roadmap in line with business unit strategy.
- Create/anticipate trends, knowledge of leading-edge products/technology and industry to effectively participate in business unit and company’s architectural boards.
- Maintain the development community up to date about standards bodies and technologies that may be employed to create solutions/products.
- Work in an agile, collaborative environment across software architecture, understand both front-end and back-end concerns.
- Work with designers to take concepts and develop them to ensure implemented code is unit tested and production-code is ready.
- Work with microservices architecture, Kubernetes, NoSQL in a complex systems environment with cloud first mindset.
- Use and develop RESTful Application Programming Interface (APIs) and web services.
- Understand user and system requirements.
- Develop using object-oriented programming, multi-threading and concurrency.
- Utilize: Java, ReactJS, REST APIs, Apache Kafka, Elasticsearch, OpenShift.
Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Systems/Data Architecture Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a System Architect, Software Engineer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Java, ReactJS, REST APIs, Apache Kafka, Elasticsearch, OpenShift. $226158 to $315800 per year. Full time. WJ158a.
