We need a PowerBI Developer for our IBM Consulting Innovation Center projects
In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations from various data sources.
Translate business requirements into semantic models and data transformations using Power Query (M) and DAX.
Optimize report performance by applying best practices in data modeling, measure writing, and query reduction.
Work with cross-functional teams to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting standards.
Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot published reports and data models in production environments.
Use row-level security (RLS) and Power BI service workspace management for data governance and access control.
Collaborate with data engineers to ensure clean, structured, and reliable data pipelines.
Document development processes, models, and datasets for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
3+ years of experience in Power BI report development and dashboard creation.
Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and Data Modeling (star schema, snowflake, normalization).
Experience in SQL and understanding of relational databases, data warehouses, and OLAP systems.
Proven track record of building enterprise-grade dashboards and reports using Power BI.
Experience working with DirectQuery and Import modes, and understanding their trade-offs.
Familiarity with Power BI Service, including workspaces, dataflows, deployment pipelines, and RLS.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or other modern data platforms.
Exposure to Power BI REST APIs, PowerShell, or DevOps for BI deployment automation.
Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) is a plus.
Understanding of TMDL, Tabular Editor, and source control for Power BI artifacts.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Py-Spark for data manipulation.
Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 or PL-600.
