- Work on cases through Salesforce and interact with clients.
- Assist and troubleshoot following issues/cases for clients like product installation, version upgrades, patch fixes, backups, HADR, pure scale features, SQL, data load and import, and performance tuning and configuration.
- Collect data and set up test environments on Linux, UNIX, and Windows to troubleshoot and identify root causes.
- Use Rational Clear Quest to document the APAR for external users, to prevent affecting the product.
- Collaborate with Release management and development to publish release documents using Drupal, which contains a list of defects to be addressed in a Db2 product patch.
- Use Salesforce to track cases and identify clients needing updates for resolution.
- Perform deep problem diagnosis using Db2 specific diagnostic tools, code traces, and analyze operating system-level traces; then conduct live debugging sessions.
- Examine and analyze the assigned product's source code to determine whether a particular behavior is functioning as intended or whether it is a flaw and use C++ and other languages to determine the functionality's final behavior.
- Create client-facing documentation regarding the defect using technical writing skills to summarize the scenario and resolution for the defect.
- Utilize Db2, SQL, C, C++, Java, .NET, HTML.
Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related (employer will accept a bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Database Administrator, Software Developer or related.
