IBM Infrastructure is looking for a backend developer to be integral part of a team responsible for product development of hybrid multicloud software products running on IBM POWER Systems including enabling AI infrastructure and our new AI accelerators. You will be part of or possibly lead a software development team focused on developing and delivering code both in IBM and/or Red Hat products as well as in open source communities. Your responsibilities will include development, testing, and deployment of code in a cloud environment using AGILE methodologies, code management systems (GitHub, JIRA), DevOps strategies, and related processes and technologies. You will interact with your peers located in various geographies using collaborative tools like Slack, online meetings (Microsoft Teams), Box, OneDrive, Monday, and email.
Job Duties
• Work with your peers, including our business partners at Red Hat to deliver cloud native container based software used in cloud solutions and infrastructure that supports IBM’s Power hardware in private, pubic and hybrid clouds.
• Transform open source projects into solid IBM/Red Hat offerings on Power Systems
• Integrate new IBM AI acceleration hardware into this cloud environment.
• Engage in key open source cloud projects around a Kubernetes core.
• Develop, Build, Test and Debug code in an Agile development environment.
• As a core member of the Development team, you will be expected to work autonomously and deliver on assigned tasks, and provide direction and leadership to others on the team who will also contribute to the project.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux Development
• Demonstrated experience in cloud technologies, such as IBM Cloud offerings, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Fluency in Python, Golang or another similar language
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Adaptable to changes in plans, and comfortable with rapid development.
