· Solution Design and Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of Siemens EnergyIP MDM solutions tailored to the specific requirements of RDSS smart metering projects, ensuring scalability to handle large volumes of meter data.
· Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with utility companies, government bodies (e.g., Ministry of Power, National Smart Grid Mission), and internal teams to gather, analyze, and translate project requirements into technical solutions.
· System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of the EnergyIP MDM system with smart meters, head-end systems (MDAS), billing systems, customer information systems, work force management , warehouse management and other relevant platforms of DISCOMs.
· Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, including design specifications, integration plans, data flow diagrams, and deployment strategies.
· Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design to deployment and post-implementation support.
· Compliance and Standards: Ensure the solution complies with Indian standards (e.g., IS-16444 for smart meters, IS-15959 for data exchange), regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity best practices for critical infrastructure.
· Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during implementation and post-deployment, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
· Knowledge Sharing: Provide training and support to project teams and end-users, facilitating knowledge transfer and adoption of the MDM solution.
· Technology Updates: Stay abreast of advancements in smart metering, MDM technologies, cloud computing, and related fields to ensure the solution remains cutting-edge.
· Technical Expertise
o In-depth knowledge of Siemens EnergyIP MDM or similar meter data management systems.
o Hands-on experience with smart metering technologies, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems, and communication protocols such as DLMS/COSEM.
o Strong expertise in data management, system integration, and cloud computing, preferably with hyperscalers, given EnergyIP’s SaaS offerings.
· Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with the RDSS scheme, its objectives (e.g., reducing AT&C losses to 12-15%, closing ACS-ARR gap), and the operational challenges of the Indian power distribution sector.
· Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
· Problem-Solving: Proven problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
· Regulatory Awareness: Understanding of Indian regulatory requirements, including data localization, cybersecurity standards, and compliance with Central Electricity Authority (CEA) guidelines.
· Certifications in solution architecture (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or relevant technologies.
· Experience with large-scale deployments and big data management, particularly in handling high volumes of meter data.
· Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in utility environments, including secure communication channels and data segregation.
· Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
· Experience working with Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Providers (AMISPs) and understanding of the TOTEX (total expenditure) model for RDSS projects.
