This job position is for IBM Japan.
The right person for this job will have extensive experience developing and maintaining software for running HPC and quantum computing experiments. You might come from an experimental, theoretical, or numerical background but should have familiarity with a variety of techniques for application development of quantum computers. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the development of open-source software tools further enabling cutting-edge experimental quantum computing research through a Qiskit (Python, C++, and Rust) based software stack. A secondary focus is to collaborate closely with other IBM Quantum researchers/engineers to develop and implement new methods to improve the performance of IBM Quantum devices.

• Graduate degree in quantum computing or related field with experience running or simulating experiments
• Familiarity with High Performance Computing
• Working knowledge of python or C++ or Rust programming, with experience contributing to software projects in at least one programming language
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with development of application of quantum computers
• Extensive knowledge of python or C++ or Rust development
• Comfortable with collaborate software methodologies (code review, design docs, etc.)
• theoretical or experimental exposure to quantum systems (e.g. NV centers, quantum dots, superconducting qubits, NMR, etc.)
