As a leader of the team, the IBM Solution Architect guides other professionals and assumes overall technical responsibility for the successful design, solution construction, implementation and system integration of IBM B2B projects. The position requires significant knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures.
As a Solution Architect you'll be a pivotal team member who connects the client's technical functional and implementation requirements with a solution design and proposal. You'll work closely with clients and sellers to build solutions based on the meeting the client's business outcomes and known best practices for the technology and industry. In this fast-paced role, you'll design, and construct build work breakdown structure leading to the rough order of magnitude leading to the price and statement of work. A successful Solution Architect will demonstrate a natural bias towards self-motivation and navigating data and people to find answers and present solutions that ensure world class delivery.
- Direct experience in the following IBM Sterling Data Exchange (SDE) products and technologies: IBM Sterling Integrator (B2BI), Sterling File Gateway (SFG), IBM Standards Processing Engine (SPE), IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender (ITX/A), IBM Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP), Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS), IBM Control Center (ICC/D), Gentran, Connect Direct/Enterprise, IBM Partner Engagement Manager (PEM/PCM).
Strong experience with capacity planning (HA/DR), scalability, performance, and load testing. - Ability to translate business requirements into technical architectures, creating solution blueprints, integration architecture diagrams, and data flow designs.
- Expertise in designing scalable, resilient, and secure systems, including implementing data security protocols (PGP, SSL/TLS) and authentication/authorization (LDAP, SSO, OAuth) frameworks.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in engaging with clients, product managers, and business analysts; Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., security, infrastructure, support), leading technical workshops, explaining complex architectures in business terms.
- Ability to produce and maintain clear and concise technical documentation, solution specifications, and governance artifacts.
- Experience working with IBM complementary products: IBM WebSphere family, Cognos, IBM Cloudant, IBM Cloud Paks and Instana
- Experience with DevOps including implementing automated Build and Release Pipelines (Ansible, ArgoCD, Chef, Rancher, etc.)
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized deployments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud) and hybrid architectures.
- Knowledge of communication and data handling protocols (AS2, HTTPS, FTPS/SFTP, Web Services/SOAP/REST, etc.); Industry data standards (ACH, ANSI X12, EDIFACT, HIPAA, RosettaNet, SWIFT, TRADCOMS, etc.)
- IBM Certified Solution Architect (Sterling B2B Integrator) and relevant Cloud certifications (AWS Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.)
