As a Network Automation Brand Technical Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in helping our clients transform and automate their network operations using IBM's industry-leading solutions, including SevOne, NS1, and IBM Rapid Network Automation (RNA). Your deep technical expertise and client-facing skills will empower clients to modernize their infrastructure and drive operational efficiency.
As a Brand Technical Specialist (BTS), you will serve as a trusted advisor and technical subject matter expert across IBM’s Network Automation portfolio. You will work directly with sales teams, partners, and customers to articulate the technical value of our solutions and lead the solutioning process from discovery through to technical closure.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technical engagements and customer workshops focused on IBM’s network automation solutions (SevOne, NS1, RNA).
Understand client requirements and develop tailored technical solutions that align with their digital transformation and operational goals.
Build and deliver compelling product demonstrations, proofs of concept (PoCs), and architectural designs.
Provide in-depth product knowledge, technical differentiation, and industry best practices for network performance monitoring, DNS traffic steering, and closed-loop automation.
Collaborate with product management, engineering, and services teams to ensure successful customer adoption.
Act as the technical liaison between IBM and partners/customers throughout the sales cycle.
Respond to RFPs/RFIs and support strategic account planning with sales teams.
Stay current on competitive trends, industry developments, and IBM roadmap updates.
- 5+ years of experience in networking technologies or network automation
- Hands-on experience with SevOne NPM, NS1, or comparable network performance/DNS automation platforms.
- Knowledge of IBM Rapid Network Automation (RNA) or similar automation/orchestration platforms (e.g., Ansible, NetBox, Cisco NSO).
- Strong understanding of network monitoring, observability, and performance metrics (SNMP, NetFlow, BGP, SD-WAN, etc.).
- Experience working with APIs, automation frameworks, and scripting (e.g., Python, YAML).
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in presales, technical sales, or customer-facing roles.
Automation Market Expertise: Demonstrating expertise in the Automation market and establishing trust as a valued advisor for clients (training on IBM's Automation offerings will be provided).
