As a DevOps Engineer for the Power System Performance your responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining Systems for performance testing of every major release of IBM® Power® (IBM Power systems)
The areas of work will be to support the latest family of IBM Power servers utilizing several versions of PHYP, Power Firmware, AIX / VIOS, and Linux releases.
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux\UNIX\AIX System Administrator with strong infrastructure and hardware management expertise. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing enterprise-grade systems, including HMC (Hardware Management Console), FSP (Flexible Service Processor), BMC (Baseboard Management Controller), and SAN .
- Administer and maintain Linux /AIX servers in physical and virtual environments.
- Manage and configure HMC for IBM Power Systems, including LPAR creation and firmware updates.
- Monitor and troubleshoot hardware using FSP and BMC interfaces.
- Perform SAN provisioning, zoning, and troubleshooting in enterprise storage environments.
- Automate system tasks using shell scripting, Python, or Ansible.
- Ensure system security, patching, and compliance with IT policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure planning and support.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
· Strong experience with Linux system administration.
· Hands-on experience with HMC, FSP, and BMC in enterprise server environments.
· Solid understanding of SAN technologies (e.g., Fibre Channel, zoning, LUN mapping).
· Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet).
· Familiarity with virtualization (PowerVM, VMware) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
· Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls).
· Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git).
· Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
· Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
