We are looking for a Benefits Design & Operational Compliance Lead to join our Global Benefits team and help drive impactful change in employee benefits offerings across IBM’s global footprint—with a current strategic focus on Australia’s leaves. This global role aims to ensure a compliant benefits landscape while ensuring operational excellence in benefits administration.
This role requires a self-starting individual with a solid understanding of Global Benefits Design, Strategy, Compliance, and Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive benefits projects from design to implementation, with accountability for delivery across assigned countries.
- Own and lead benefit design and compliance programs for selected countries, including reviewing current programs, proposing enhancements, and ensuring implementation aligns with business goals.
- Provide subject matter expertise on global benefits administration, governance, and legal compliance.
- Act as the go-to partner for internal stakeholders (e.g., HRBPs, legal, payroll, and finance) and external vendors to assess and execute benefits initiatives.
- Engage directly with local and global teams to ensure consistent understanding and alignment on benefit program changes and compliance expectations.
- Support M&A activity, audits, and risk assessments as needed.
- Assist in documenting policy and process
Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
- 8+ years of experience in global benefits, total rewards, or HR operations, ideally within a large multinational organization.
- Strong knowledge of benefits design, operational processes, and compliance, especially in Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across time zones and functions.
- Customer service mindset with a strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including comfort interacting with senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, advanced Excel)
- Strong project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Global Benefits or Human Resources
- Prior experience managing or supporting Australian benefits and statutory leave programs (e.g. Fair Work Act, Superannuation, LSL).
- Customer service experience
