The IBM mainframe (Z Systems) is responsible for most credit card transactions and is used by the many of the top insurers, banks, retailers, and airlines.
IBM z/VM® is an operating system with highly secure and scalable hypervisor and virtualization technology designed to run Linux®, z/OS®, z/VSE® and z/TPF virtual machines as well as Red Hat® OpenShift® on IBM zSystems™ and IBM LinuxONE servers. z/VM provides a highly secure and scalable environment for efficiently running critical Linux applications, with support for more Linux virtual servers than any other platform in a single footprint.
The DevX team works towards improving the Development Experience of the developers by providing plugins/extensions to the IDE for managing legacy code.
1. Work with Product Owner/Lead in understanding customer/project requirements, create/implement the design, and developing unit test scenarios to validate the solution/fixes.
2. Analyse the issues, defect reports by test team using traces, debugging traces and develop fixes or enhancements.
3. Experience dealing with customers problems, developing resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
4. Troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations issues in the layers.
5. Create and review documentation and process regarding network implementation/deployments, recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
6. Participate in continuous and iterative software development cycles with emphasis on code quality, supportability, scalability and performance6. Document technical issues and solutions
Must have:
a) Technical and Professional Expertise with relevant experience of 5- 9 years in developing SW using C++
b) Minimum 5 years in programming and debugging skills in C++
c) Hands on experience in working with Debugger (LLDB, GDB, PurifyPlus,Sentry,...etc)
d) Very Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.
e) Must have good Learning ability
f) Must be a Strong Team Player with good communication and Interpersonal Skills.
Good to have:
g) IBM Products Knowledge and Experience in ZOS. Exposure to Python, PLX
h) Extremely comfortable in Linux/unix development environment - commands/shell, Libraries and managing the development environment & Linux Adminstration.
i) Ability to write/modifying Shell Programs - Bash, KSH, CSH.
j) Experience working with install/Build scripts, Makefiles and configuration.
k) Proven ability to work effectively in a global team environment
l) Proven command over the English language, both written and verbal
A) IDE Plugin Plugin development will be a plus
B) Solid understanding of systems architecture (Hardware/ Firmware)
C) Knowledge of Linux administration
D) Familiar with IBM Mainframe environment and ZOS(hands-on would be Plus)
