We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong Facilities Management (FM) expertise to lead the electrical infrastructure and support integrated FM services across a portfolio of leased buildings in Texas and the US West. This role combines deep technical knowledge of electrical systems with strategic oversight of FM supplier performance, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for all site electrical systems, including high-voltage distribution, substations, and fire/life safety systems.
- Lead planning and execution of electrical shutdowns, field switching procedures, and arc flash studies.
- Review and approve electrical designs, submittals, and commissioning activities.
- Analyze power monitoring systems (PME) data to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and emergency response for electrical incidents.
- Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives (e.g., VFDs, lighting upgrades, solar).
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, IEEE, and other applicable codes.
- Provide technical consultation for lab and R&D space requirements.
- Oversee maintenance and upgrades of electrical infrastructure, including 115KV substations and 15KV/480V/208V systems.
Facilities Management Responsibilities:
- Act as the single point of contact for integrated FM services, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee FM supplier performance, contract adherence, SLAs, and KPIs.
- Support multi-site operations and strategic integration of facilities.
- Develop and manage capital and expense investment plans.
- Ensure business continuity through emergency response and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with Finance and Procurement for budget control and vendor management.
- Manage utility bill payments and documentation in compliance with client procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors for delivery of amenity programs and food services.
- Implement recommendations from loss prevention and insurance partners.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (Professional Engineer license is a plus)
- 10+ years of experience in electrical systems and facilities operations
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and compliance
- Skilled power monitoring tools, and Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to manage projects, solve problems, and lead teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to respond to after-hours electrical or safety events
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (Professional Engineer license is a plus)
