Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on Cloudera architecture, design, and deployment strategies.
- Guide/Lead installation, configuration, and administration of Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) and its ecosystem (BigSQL, HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka, Ranger, Atlas, watsonx.data).
- Provide guidance on data governance, security, and compliance frameworks within Cloudera.
- Conduct health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning for clusters.
- Support clients in migrating data from legacy systems to CDP-based architectures.
- Develop automation and operational best practices for upgrades, patching, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to design scalable big data pipelines.
- Deliver knowledge transfer sessions, documentation, and advisory workshops.
- Integrate with IBM products such as Big SQL and watsonx.data
- Code Spark and python jobs and migrate to watsonx.data
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years in IT, with 3–5 years in Cloudera/Hadoop ecosystem administration.
- Strong knowledge of Cloudera Data Platform (on-prem and/or cloud).
- Hands-on expertise in HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka, Ranger, Atlas,BigSQL, watsonx.data
- Proficiency in cluster monitoring tools.
- Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting across distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cloud integration (AWS/Azure/GCP/CDP Public Cloud).
- Can work and architect both CDP and CDS (container)
- Strong client-facing consulting and communication skills.
- Cloudera Administrator or Solution Architect certification.
- Experience with automation (Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD integration.
