Our renowned legacy creates endless global opportunities for our IBMers, so the door is always open for those who want to grow their career.
We are seeking a skilled Software Developer in Test to join our IBM Runtimes Software team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products, working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.
IBM’s product and technology landscape includes Research, Software, and Infrastructure. Entering this domain positions you at the heart of IBM, where growth and innovation thrive.

This position will work closely with development teams and other test engineers in the implementation and delivery of software products that meet rigorous quality standards, budgets, and timelines. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and you’ll be working closely with fellow developers, architects, and product managers to ensure our software aligns seamlessly with user expectations.
Your primary responsibilities include:
Collaborative Development: Work closely with development teams to design and implement functional and non-functional tests. Support test-driven development frameworks and ensure rigorous quality standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle.
Coding on daily basis (Python/Java preferable)
Test Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive test plans and execute test cases to ensure software products meet quality standards and requirements.
Automation Integration: Implement and integrate test automation into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency.
Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated experience in problem-solving, with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions.
Experience writing tests from scratch, in at least one programming language (Java or Python especially useful). Implement these tests as part of an existing tooling pipeline.

Operate in a Linux / Unix environment, including being comfortable using the command line interface.
Worked with standard development tools, such as git, CI/CD, code coverage, etc - and understand what these tools are for and why they are a necessary part of testing.
Cloud/Container skills: Familiarity with cloud and container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Operator framework, Red Hat OpenShift and AWS.
- Adaptable Tech Stack Familiarity: Illustrate familiarity and comfort with a diverse technology stack, demonstrating knowledge in areas such as Linux, Git, Jenkins, and JBoss EAP.
