- Planning, installing, configuring, and implementing z/OS
- Installing, migrating, monitoring, securing, and enabling z/OS
- Planning, configuring, and implementing z/OS for continuous availability across planned or unplanned outage of any single hardware or software element.
- Planning, installing, testing, and implementing z/OS service level upgrade and patches.
- Planning and implementing configuration changes to enhance z/OS performance.
- Creating and deploying z/OS operating system
- Planning and implementing support for disaster recovery.
- Providing technical assistance to IBM CIO programmers and end users.
- May require rotating 24x7 on-call support responsibility as well as weekend support
- Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience
- 8-10 years of experience as a z/OS systems programmer
- Advanced knowledge of z/OS, z/OS UNIX System Services, SMP/E, TCPIP, RACF, JCL, ISPF, SMS, z/OSMF, IODF, IOCDS, FICON, control units, z/OS configuration best practices and other standard z/OS components/products
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages, such as REXX, high level assembler, and python
- Experience or familiarity with Ansible, OpenShift, Jira and Problem/ Change process
- Advanced knowledge of IBM mainframe technologies
- Good communication skills both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with application developers, support teams, software vendors and management staff
