As a Tactical Buyer you will play an essential role to re-valuate, re-negotiate or extend contracts and suppliers to achieve optimum benefits.
- Execute competitive bid events
- Communicate and negotiate with clients and suppliers through all levels of organization
- Support one-off tactical sourcing of client requirements
- Provide support across multi-categories
- Identify appropriate potential suppliers to fit client’s business objectives
- Analyze contract database to determine correct contract to use
- Liaise with stakeholder to understand needs and future plans
- Support periodic key stakeholder meetings with client to review commodity strategy and activities
- Consider what contract structure (hierarchy) is best used for a particular supplier scenario
- Build effective relationships with IBM different entities as well as the client business and procurement stakeholders
- Interact with parallel organizations in other geos to assure consistent global approach
- Perform periodic analysis within managed commodity scope to identify savings, define efficiency opportunities and tactical initiatives that should be undertaken
- Negotiate and contract with suppliers driving additional savings and value
- Resolve issues by extending own knowledge base
- Promote process efficiencies through focus on automated channels where applicable
- Optimize supply base opportunities across managed commodities
- Manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion
- Strong Verbal and written English & Italian skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum).
- Solid procurement experience including RFx management experience (3 years)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
