Rôle et responsabilités

As a Z Hardware Brand Technical Specialist (BTS), you will have extensive technical knowledge to sell Business Unit Technology solutions to clients in order to remove all technical inhibitors to sales opportunities. 


Your Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • ·        Support IBM Z customers to realise the value of the IBM Z platform 
  • ·        Work closely with customer technical staff and develop relationships as trusted advisor and subject matter expert
  • ·        Identify and take responsibility for brand technical opportunities
  • ·        Work closely with IBM Z brand hardware seller to create viable solution designs, and develop attractive proposals
  • ·        Work with Account Executives to promote the profile of the IBM Z brand
  • ·        Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to customers to deploy new solutions
  • ·        Support marketing activities such as IBM Think, TechXchange, Z Forum
  • ·        Collaborate with the direct IBM systems team and the broader IBM business
  • ·        Where appropriate, mentor newer members of the team
  • ·        Respond to RFQ’s, RFI’s and RFP’s
  • ·        Follow the IBM quality assurance processes and perform technical reviews of proposals
  • ·        Continually update skills and knowledge through education and research 
  • ·        Create and deliver technical presentations including demonstrations, POCs, Customer Education, and Workshops.
  • Ability to value sell the technology in a compelling way to teach and challenge clients with a confident and opinionated point of view.

Expertise professionnelle et technique requise
  • Strong Hardware technical background and with a high level of understanding of Linux
  • IBM Linux or Appliance technical knowledge and experience
  • Business Resiliency technologies such as Parallel Sysplex
  • Storage High Availability and Mirroring technologies
  • Performance and Capacity planning
  • Ability to identify, create and progress new opportunities
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Software technical background including basic knowledge of understanding and utilizing open source software
