IBM Data Platform Technical Sales Specialists are technical experts and trusted advisors to customers, IBM sales teams, and IBM business partners. Technical sales specialists understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements and competitive environment. They apply business understanding, are in charge of building and maintaining customer relationships, integrate the IBM Data Platform portfolio into solutions that clients value, and ensure the customer's readiness to implement technical solutions. IBM Data Platform Technical Sales Specialists are technical sales consultants and trusted advisors to IBM clients. They understand the customer's business and technical requirements, apply industry-specific knowledge and experience, a high level of product knowledge and knowledge of competitive products to bring new business and technology insights and value to the assigned customers, in order to help increase revenue for the IBM Data Platform solution portfolio.
- Actively develop and advance capabilities within the IBM Data Platform portfolio, mainly around artificial intelligence.
- Provide strategic direction to executive decision-makers regarding their information architecture to support business transformation and their journey to AI.
- Deliver workshops, product demonstrations, technical educations and Proof of Concepts (PoC), and at the same time articulate the business value of our IBM Data Platform solutions.
- Enable, support and work with an ecosystem of business partners.
- Develop industry-specific tools and demonstrations that can be reused.
- Collaborate with other internal IBM teams to achieve unparalleled customer satisfaction with our solutions.
- Establish strong relationships with technical teams at each client.
- Maintain an understanding of the user industry, including industry trends and business processes in the industry.
- Collaborate with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Supporting technical user escalations, verifying installations, sharing best practices, designing solutions and answer technical questions during the sales process to identify/advance/complete sales and develop customer relationships.
- At least 3 years of hand-on experience working with IBM or non-IBM solutions in some of the areas such as AI, AI agents, ML, databases, ETL/ELT, data replication, stream processing, data warehouse, data lake, data lineage, optimization, business intelligence, planning, business process management, robotic process automation, decision management, document management systems, master data management and test data management.
- At least 5 years of hand-on experience working with IBM or non-IBM solutions in some of the areas such as AI, AI agents, ML, databases, ETL/ELT, data replication, stream processing, data warehouse, data lake, data lineage, optimization, business intelligence, planning, business process management, robotic process automation, decision management, document management systems, master data management and test data management.
