As a System Administrator , you are the face of IBM for our customers. Ours clients' success depends on your ability to understand their needs and respond to requests for new services. This role is an integral part of both account planning and delivering support strategies, working to proactively monitor problems, change processes, and handle issues to ensure our customers success.
- Storage Installation and Configuration
- Install and configure IBM and non-IBM storage systems.
- Configure hosts and host groups on storage systems.
- Establish connectivity between storage systems, SAN switches, and servers.
- Create arrays, logical volumes (LUNs), and map them to hosts/host groups.
- Data Management and Monitoring
- Implement FlashCopy, Shadow Images, and other snapshot utilities.
- Monitor the health and capacity of storage systems.
- Analyze controller load performance and monitor overall storage performance.
- Configure mail alerts for hardware failure notifications.
- Replication and Backup Services
- Configure and execute replication services.
- Generate storage and SAN utilization reports as per customer requirements.
- Back up SAN switch configurations on FTP servers.
- SAN Switch Configuration and Maintenance
- Install and configure Brocade and Cisco SAN switches.
- Perform zoning on Brocade and Cisco SAN switches.
- Monitor SAN health, including link errors and CRS errors.
- Troubleshoot IBM SAN using recovery tools, event logs, and ASD logs.
- Total IT experience of 7 years with a minimum of 3 years of experience in storage systems.
- Experience with Flash Systems, FlashCopy, and replication technologies like GM, GMCV, and MGM is highly recommended.
- Skills in CSM (Cloud Storage Manager) will be an added advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
