Experienced Operating System Administrator with a strong background in AIX, Linux, and DB2 to join the OneIT organization to help support and modernize the platform to develop the next generation IBM Infrastructure products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance, and implementing modernization processes in legacy tools.
Key responsibilities include:
- Infrastructure maintenance, including servers running AIX and Linux. Monitoring system health, troubleshooting, backups. Including network-related tasks.
- DB2 management. Creation, configuration and maintenance of DB2 instances; ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
- User and access management. Implement user management controls to protect sensitive systems and data. Update and review permissions as needed.
- Security and patch management. Stay current with the latest security requirements. Work with a security-oriented approach to plan, test, and implement updates to protect data while maintaining systems stability.
- Process modernization. Adopt new workflows and streamline existing ones on legacy environments to improve overall efficiency.
- Strong Linux/AIX skills, 5 years experience.
- Experience managing DB2 databases.
- Proven troubleshooting and proble-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work in a global team and work closely with customers.
- Ability to adapt and bring novel ideas and solutions.
- Scripting (bash, ksh, perl, python).
- Familiarity with automation tools and processes.
