We are looking for a passionate and experienced Engineering Manager to lead, inspire, and drive a group of versatile engineers. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of our product roadmap and strategy, as well as help us build and develop a powerful engineering team. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering and collaborating with the founding team, you will work with open source technologies to build new products on Kubernetes. We’re looking for developers that are passionate about our product, can execute quickly, and are comfortable with ambiguity. Top-notch collaboration, communication, and documentation skills are essential.
As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for managing the projects on the roadmap to successful delivery to our clients. Help the team triage and prioritize incoming support tickets. Drive for product quality, while pushing to help deliver new product features to the market. You'll work with product managers to prioritize and groom the backlog, and manage the tasks for each release. Conduct one on one meetings with your direct reports to help foster their growth, and help them acheive success in the team's goals.
3+ years of experience leading software development teams
6+ years of hands-on experience with customer facing product development
- 2+ years of experience with kubernetes, helm, and/or docker (bonus points if you have experience with Go or cloud-native tooling!)
- Experience with at least one of the major cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure
- A people-first transformational leadership style that emphasizes mentorship, growth, collaboration
- Developed and operated large-scale infrastructure services
- Experience handling customer escalations
- Experience working with distributed, remote teams and working cross-functionally with product management, design, etc.
- Experience with some of our core technologies including Prometheus and Clickhouse
- Previous work building developer tools, monitoring platforms, or cost optimization solutions
- Experience using Open Telemetry
- Experience with open source contributions or communities
- Experience with tight controls on security and compliance
- Passion for infrastructure and/or DevOps tooling
A passion for building systems that need to scale 10X and beyond with a focus on efficiency
A track record of shipping performant, scalable backend code
Ability to iterate quickly on new products and the flexibility to switch to high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment
