In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
SQL DBA
· Provide complete database administration support for assigned applications.
· Maintain information in the DDS inventory for supported applications.
· Participation in design sessions with application teams.
· Participation in application review meetings prior to deployment.
· Review of all DDL changes prior to deployment to ensure standards are met and design doesn’t adversely impact performance of the application.
· Participate in DDS infrastructure changes impacting supported applications.
· Log and address defects as needed.
· Proactive monitoring to ensure general health of application databases.
· Proactive review of storage consumption and identifying requirements.
· Participate in production incident bridges with other support groups, following DDS escalation procedures. Propose solutions and present environment information to support troubleshooting efforts.
· Utilize Foglight, the standard DDS monitoring tool, to troubleshoot and monitor assigned application databases.
· Participate in weekly DDS support meetings.
· Resource will be experienced in working with SQL SERVER.
· Experience with SQL Server versions 2012 and higher.
· Familiarity with HA and BCP solutions in SQL Server.
· Familiarity with servers, VMs and clustered environments.
· Resource will be effective at working with application developers.
· Resource is capable of working independently.
· Resource will contribute to the weekly status report and participate in project meetings.
· Resource would be available for off-hours implementations as required.
