In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology. We are seeking highly motivated and experienced person with excellent communication, analytical skills, and SAP Basis work experience, to fulfill the key role of SAP Basis Lead on an S/4HANA Transformation Project.  

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Analyzes, designs, builds, and/or configures activities necessary for the initial build or periodic refresh of components for the SAP environments. 

  • Lead the planning and execution of the SAP S/4HANA migration, including system upgrades, data migrations, and technical landscape optimization. 

  • Implement strategies for optimizing the performance and scalability of SAP systems, including monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting. 

  • Establish and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for SAP landscapes to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity. 

  • Implement and manage SAP security policies and authorizations, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of critical business data. 

  • Work closely with project teams, functional analysts, and data leads to ensure seamless integration of SAP Basis activities with overall project goals. 

  • Create and maintain system documentation, including technical specifications and procedures. 

  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to ensure the skill development of team members. 

  • Incident and Problem Management: Lead incident and problem resolution efforts, collaborating with support teams to address and resolve issues in a timely manner. 

 

Required education

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Extensive experience as an SAP Basis professional, with a focus on S/4HANA 

  • In-depth knowledge of SAP technical architecture, system administration, and performance optimization. 

  • Requires knowledge of available infrastructure, related system software, system integration techniques, network management. 

  • Wide Experience in S/4HANA, ECC, NetWeaver, BW4/HANA, BTP, Cloud Connector, Fiori/Gateway (Embedded and Distributed), Solution Manager, Web Dispatcher, Business Objects Platform (Business Intelligence and Data Services), Lumira Platform, SLT. 

  • Proficient in HANA Database administration. This includes but is not limited to administration via HANA studio and operating system interfaces, implementation of HA/DR replication, execution of failover procedures (with Pacemaker proficiency), utilization of HANA cockpit, backup administration, among other responsibilities. 

  • Experience working with SaaS solutions such as SAC, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Fieldglass, Concur is an asset. 

  • Ability to drive the client to make difficult decisions during transformation programs, navigate complex business problems, and translate to SAP functional requirements. 

  • Strong understanding of SAP security and authorization concepts. 

  • Experience in Implementations, Upgrades, OS/DB Migrations, Unicode conversions. 

  • Experience and knowledge of additional database technologies such as Oracle, Sybase, DB2, MySQL, etc. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with remote office locations. 

  • Growth-mindset: Willingness to learn new technologies and processes. 

  • Strong presentation skills with high degree of comfort in communicating with developers, offering managers, sellers, and executive management. 

  • Ability to plan and estimate development tasks (ideally within an Agile framework) 

  • Ability to capture best practices and produce required project documentation.
