The IBM Z team that supports IBM clients and internal teams across the Americas. We work hands-on with cutting-edge IBM Z and LinuxONE technology, providing enablement, guidance, and technical demonstrations to help organizations realize the full potential of IBM Z. As an intern, you will gain exposure to enterprise-class systems, modern automation, and hybrid cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing IBM Z, networking, and storage environments for lab projects and engagements.
- Participate in team activities to support infrastructure alignment for client and internal demos.
- Shadow and assist in deploying Red Hat OpenShift, databases, and automation tools under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Learn to support proof-of-concept activities, performance benchmarks, and technology demonstrations.
- Document processes, lessons learned, and observations for team reference.
- Contribute to team Kanban intake by tracking tasks and status updates.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Basic understanding of operating systems, networking concepts, or databases.
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn enterprise technology.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with Linux command line.
- Exposure to container platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Interest in enterprise infrastructure, mainframe computing, or cloud environments.
