IBM Research Brazil is seeking motivated interns to conduct applied research on Human- AI Interaction in Sustainable Material Discovery.
The candidates selected for this position will contribute to the research and development of innovative services and tools to help subject matter experts on generating and evaluating their hypotheses towards the discovery of new sustainable materials.
For this internship opportunity, we are looking for undergraduate students interested in working with Human-Computer Interaction.
The intern will work on existing projects which have a well-defined agenda, deliverables, and schedules.
Those projects can be related to AI-assisted Decision Making, Human-AI Co-creation in ScientificDiscovery, Knowledge Lifecycle Management,
Flexible Application-specific Knowledge Bases,and Engineering of AI-based Systems.
Moreover, the intern is going to acquire experience working with interdisciplinar research teams at IBM Research Brazil and IBM worldwide.
At IBM, we encourage takinginternal courses and attending talks/seminars to improve skills in key areas.
The intern will,therefore, be able to learn, apply the acquired knowledge in real scenarios, produce useful assets and move forward the state of art
through academic writing.

• Interest in working on applied research Technical requirements:
• Enrolled in Undergraduate courses in Computer Science, Computing Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent;
• Experience in programming languages, such as Python and/or JavaScript;
• Commitment with software engineering good practices;
Familiarity with web development, Angular, d3, Typescript, Node.js programming, and HCI techniques.
