In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As an Infrastructure Specialist: System Administration you'll be responsible for providing 24/7 technical support for cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless operations across various applications, DevOps, middleware, security, and infrastructure components.You'll play a critical role in building & setting up new development tools, infrastructure, and Networking, maintaining and deploying the cloud applications.
You'll also be part of developing and configure infrastructure and configuration as code (e.g.: Ansible and Terraform). Experience is required in the administration of Dev,Test & Production environments hosted on OS such as Windows, Linux and Unix. Have strong knowledge of load balancing, CDN options provided by multiple cloud vendors (E.g. Load balancer and Application gateway in Azure). You should be knowledgable on installing and configuring MYSQL, MSSQL PostgreSQL and other databases.
You'll ensure the systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats besides identifying and fixing technical problems and installing software updates and ‘fixes’.
You'll also support installing and maintaining a logging cluster using tools such as Logstash, ElasticSearch and Kibana as a centralized solution to parse logs from application and docker containers. As well as identify and resolve issues involving APIs, application services, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, microservices, containers, Kubernetes nodes, ICP management, middleware components, network, security, and infrastructure problems. If unable to resolve an issue, you should be capable of escalating it to the appropriate support level. Proficiency in cloud application architecture and performing initial analysis on incidents is expected.
You'll manage Application ID and provide cloud elasticity by auto-scaling resources based on business requirements. Additionally, ensure DR and manual redundancy failover capabilities. Regular service management reports should be provided to keep clients informed. You should be familiar with ITIL processes and Integrated Service Level Management.
- 3+ years of experience working with IBM MQ including configuration
- 3+ years of experience administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting IBM MQ
- 2+ years of experience integrating IBM MQ with other platforms
- 2+ years of experience with IBM MQ performance monitoring and tuning.
- Advanced spoken English level
- Scripting with shell or Python
- Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira
