The Solution Consultant works in the field sales team and drives revenue by supporting new sales opportunities. You are great at discussing how cloud and other IT spend can be allocated and optimized using our SaaS based products. Your solution-based discussions, presentations, demos, and technical validation activities show how we deliver business value. You will lead solution design and be technically responsible for sales wins. Your communication skills in the local culture and language and show passion and energy help you succeed with the team in winning business.
What we want you to do:
- Discovery: Help in discovery meetings to learn about customer challenges and decide which solutions to focus on.
- Product Presentations & Demonstrations: Deliver presentations and demonstrations showing Apptio’s ability to meet a prospect’s business challenges.
- Architecture & Technical Overview: Deliver an overview of Apptio’s technical architecture and product capabilities that provide its value to customers
- Technical Validation Events: Manage the technical validation events that require us to leverage data and other information provided by a prospect to show the prospect the value of leveraging Apptio’s solutions
- RFI/RFP Responses: Respond to a prospect’s request for information or proposal, including researching and creating the content, ensuring the quality of the response, and ensuring timely delivery of the response
- Transfer Knowledge: Share your experiences with the rest of the Apptio team
- Collaboration and Support: Assist other team members in the execution of the above responsibilities
- Offer Feedback: Provide feedback to product & other teams about the outcomes
- 5+ years of solid experience as a consultant for an enterprise technology vendor or in customer environments.
- Fluent in German and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Some understanding of public cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with and selling to IT organizations across different industries and sizes.
- Some familiarity with enterprise business management software (e.g. SAP, Oracle).
- General knowledge of IT infrastructure or spend across multiple areas.
- Ability to present and discuss technology with business & technical stakeholders.
Working Conditions:
- Travel required to visit prospects and customers.
- Need to be able to work independently and manage priorities of multiple sales opportunities.
- Remote customer and internal work required; need to be comfortable remote and in person conversations, calls, and sessions.
