IBM seeks a passionate and experienced Social Media Manager to join the IBM Quantum team. IBM Quantum works to bring useful quantum computing to the world, and maintains a diverse team of marketing, product, and content professionals working to introduce quantum to the largest audience as it begins to enter the compute ecosystem. The perfect candidate should be a natural storyteller excited about emerging technology, deep tech, and quantum’s potential to revolutionize computing as it matures. They should be familiar how different stories, or stories told differently, can attract specific audience segments. And they should understand how a variety of content types work together to tell a cohesive story about emerging technology.
This is a social media manager role, but candidate should be eager to get their hands dirty and align content across the marketing funnel. The candidate will be primarily focused on developing and managing a comprehensive social media and content strategy across multiple channels and executive stakeholders, aligning content and CTAs with overarching business goals. This includes building and scaling brand presence, while leading the strategy, content development, and cross-channel execution of major brand announcements with measurable business impact and data. The candidate will work alongside writing, production, graphic design, and video teams to support storytelling, and they will further work cross-functionally with researchers, product teams, senior executives, and cross-company communications teams to translate complex topics into accessible, engaging narratives for social channels. They will use analytics to optimize performance, identify opportunities, and inform social media content direction.
- Demonstrated success growing and managing technical communities on platforms like Reddit, GitHub, and YouTube, with a focus on engagement, education, and reputation management
- Deep understanding of the social media landscape, including new technology, communicating with appropriate voice and tone, and trends such as the use of AIDemonstrated success growing audiences on LinkedIn and other social platforms and driving high engagement through organic content strategies
- Experience using data and analytics to influence content strategy to increase business impact.
- Familiarity with the HPC landscape including hardware, cloud compute, AI, quantum, and how they play together
- Understanding of content strategy and how we use content to promote a brand, attract clients, and retain users
- Strong, fast writer with the proven ability to turn deeply technical concepts into compelling stories for a variety of audiences.
- Familiarity with CMS Platforms (content management system), like Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Sprout, etc.
- Familiarity with SEO and incorporating SEO best practices into content strategy
- 5+ years of experience in social media management and/or content strategy.
- 3+ years experience creating social media content about deep tech
