IBM is looking for an experienced tax professional for the position of Vietnam and Korea Country Tax Analyst. The Vietnam and Korea Country Tax Analyst will report to the Asia Pacific Tax Centre Leader. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur.
The Vietnam and Korea Country Tax Analyst will be responsible for the following:
- The tax analyst responsibilities focus on, but are not limited to, preparation / review of various tax returns and support of the tax calculations for the various tax returns (e.g. Corporate Income Tax (CIT) / Withholding Tax (WHT) / Indirect Tax (IDT)) on foreign or domestic supplies where applicable, etc.), USGAAP reporting including income tax liability and cash tax forecasts, internal & external audit support.
- The tax analyst is required to analyze and interpret Vietnam and Korea country tax laws and financial data which requires basic accounting knowledge and the application of corporate policies, practices and procedures.
- The tax analyst interacts with both internal and external stakeholders on tax matters and works closely with the Country Tax teams and other IBM support functions, such as accounting and treasury.
- For Vietnam, the tax analyst is required to provide practical tax solutions and tax advisory support to IBM Vietnam’s Business Units and Enterprise Support Functions, including working cross-functionally with IBM Legal, Treasury, Accounting, Finance & Operations teams to meet IBM’s Global Tax strategic objectives.
- The analyst must maintain controls, audit readiness and compliance including ensuring compliance with IBM’s Tax Controls Framework and Tax Policies.
- The analyst will demonstrate strong communication skills, be committed to meeting all deadlines, prioritize workload, and utilize agile processes, methods and tools.
- Must be fluent in Vietnamese and English and able to communicate proficiently (written and oral) in said languages. Additional Korean language skill is an advantage.
- 6 to 8 years relevant tax experience, with Vietnamese corporate income tax and indirect tax compliance and advisory experience including, in-depth knowledge of Vietnamese corporate income taxes, indirect taxes, transfer pricing, and a working knowledge of employment taxes. Additional experience with Korean tax compliance is an advantage.
- Candidate should have strong skills and background in tax compliance & tax operations with relevant Big 4 experience. In-house tax experience within a large multinational enterprise is an advantage.
- A hands-on approach, self-starter with attention to detail and learning agility is required.
- Having a commercial outlook, strong business acumen and an awareness of risk is required.
- Strong teaming and communication skills with a collaborative mindset is required to continuously seek opportunities for process optimization and solution implementation.
- Candidate should hold formal qualifications in Accounting / Tax and hold a Vietnam Chief Accountant Certificate.
