IBM is in search of a Social Graphic Designer to bring social first ideas to life on behalf of IBM.
To bolster IBM’s leadership in the AI and hybrid cloud space, the Social Media & Influence team is responsible for translating our brand story, across our owned social channels to raise awareness around what we do as a company, our products, and solutions.
In this role you will work directly with our design team and in partnership with creative strategists aligned to key areas of the business to bring social-first ideas to life.
- Lead design of social creative based on briefing and brainstorms with creative strategists
- Iterate quickly based on feedback from creative directors and strategists.
- Collaborate with design team to architect social-first design systems Design and develop assets for organic and paid social media campaigns across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, etc.)
- Apply IBM brand guidelines effectively and consistently across all creative output
- Collaborate with copywriters, strategists, and other designers to deliver cohesive, high-quality work for key moments and products
- Prepare files for animation and make basic text or setup changes in After Effects
- Work within and contribute to shared Figma files and design systems
- Stay up-to-date with social media trends, formats, and design best practices
- Solid experience in graphic design, with a strong, up-to-date portfolio
- Proficient in Figma, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Fluent English (will be dealing directly with global teams)
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem solving ability
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Experience designing for a variety of social formats (carousels, stories, vertical video frames, etc.), and creating content that is audience-first.
- Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
- Experience managing global cross-discipline stakeholders across all levels
- Working knowledge of project management tools such as Slack, Trello, Airtable and Box
- Proficiency with social media management tools
- Familiarity with After Effects – comfortable making basic text edits and layout adjustments
- Experience working within or contributing to brand guidelines
- Understanding of motion graphics and how static designs translate to animation
- Exposure to B2B or technology brands is a bonus
