Introduction

The IBM Strategic Partnership Team is seeking an experienced and highly self-motivated business development executive (BDE) to join a growing team to drive IBM’s strategic partnership with Samsung, one of the world’s most renowned multi-industry conglomerates spanning numerous businesses including electronics, semiconductor, etc. The Samsung partnership is a highly visible leadership role spanning IBM and Red Hat services and technologies. The partnership has enjoyed double digit growth for the past few years and is on a growth trajectory to become a $10B+ business.

Your role and responsibilities

The Samsung Partnership focuses on integrating all of IBM across Research, Technology and Consulting to bring to life innovative thought leadership that drives strategic business differentiation and growth for both IBM and Samsung, while accelerating IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI narrative across Samsung Group.  

Major responsibilities include:


  • Establishing key executive relationships with Samsung to drive business goals and strategic initiatives that drive IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI narrative
  • Execute our partnership strategy across IBM to co-create innovation with Samsung globally.
  • Drive key strategic initiatives that create business differentiation for IBM and Samsung. 
  • Unlock new channels of growth that accelerates Samsung’s business goals and IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI strategy.
  • Demonstrating ownership and accountability to grow the business and deliver results
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred education
Master's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise


  • Multiple years in sales, learning, marketing or consulting
  • Strong strategic planning ability
  • Proven ability to deliver long/short-term sales activation strategies and tactical plans 
  • Familiarity with IBM’s business partner organization and strategy
  • Skilled in analyzing, documenting and communicating complex data - written and verba
  • Comfortable leading enablement webinars and events
Preferred technical and professional experience


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Design Thinking certification
  • Self-starter
  • Understand Agile principles and ability to apply to work
  • Well-connected within IBM with a large network of resources and contacts to engage for subject matter expertise Subject Matter Expert (SME) assistance
  • Communications and/or multimedia design experience a plus

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
