Research Scientists at IBM drive the leading edge of quantum computing technologies with the industry’s most advanced hardware and software. Join an elite team of engineers and scientists building a path towards scalable fault tolerant quantum computation.
A successful candidate will lead a team of engineers and coordinate the frequency control of IBM Quantum deployment hardware. Using a combination of machine learning, AI and optimization techniques, the candidate is expected to develop novel methods to generate optimal frequency plans for multi-qubit quantum processors, and will define, assess and quantify architecture-aware yield metrics based on feedback from the broader team. The role includes source code development for instrument control, full-stack automation, integrated experimental workflows and analytics on large data sets, through database development (e.g. SQL) and custom data visualization. The candidate is expected to disseminate results through impactful patents and represent IBM in professional meetings and societies.
