FTM serves as the central nervous system for top-tier financial institutions, orchestrating complex payment lifecycles across diverse international standards like SWIFT, SEPA, and various real-time payment networks. It is a high-volume, highly-available system where a single minute of downtime can have cascading financial consequences.

For FTM organization We are looking for a Release Manager to take on the mission of orchestrating the delivery of new capabilities to market for our complex and high-stakes FTM ecosystem. We need an individual who has mastered the art of managing releases.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Release Manager, you will be responsible for leading the overall project milestones and release readiness criteria to deliver impactful and critical requirements for IBM’s Financial Transaction Manager (FTM) money-moving platform.  You will be a part of our agile, worldwide organization, utilizing your communication and leadership skills to help drive tasks and priorities while also focusing on innovation and embracing AI and Agentic AI into our products. 

A key element of this role is driving quality and feature delivery working across the Architecture, Development and QA teams to ensure successful and on-time enablement of critical capabilities.

 

We would expect from you to:


·    Work with Development, Product Management, Security, Support, Legal, Customer Success, and other partners to complete Release Management tasks for software products

·    Coordinate with development and stakeholders to set and manage scope, and to prioritize and schedule release activities

·    Develop release plans, timelines, and milestones, and drive the team to finish tasks on time with high quality

·    Facilitate communication to ensure smooth collaboration across different teams

·    Help fix problems: Understand the context, get people talking, get to the bottom of it, get action plans and targets, facilitate retrospective review, and apply learnings the next time

·    Help prevent problems: Educate your stakeholders on the Release Management cycle, creating an informed workforce to improve quality and speed of deliveries

·    Identify and assess potential risks, develop mitigation plans, and take action as needed

·    Facilitate compliance processes such as open source software clearance, security and privacy reviews, and export classification

·    Evaluate and improve release processes based on feedback and post-release analysis


You will have the opportunity to work directly with our clients and build relationships and manage their success with our products. You will collaborate with the leadership team, presenting executive and mid-level management status reports, and continuously manage priorities across the organization.

Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred education
Master's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise

·    3+ years of Release Management, Project Management or Development Management experience OR relevant experience

·    Ability to manage the on-time delivery of feature requirements for all major releases, specifically with Agile methodologies

·    Experience with Triage incoming defects and requirements, and continuously follow up on their progress 

·    Experience managing project scrums and prioritizing must fix defects 

·    Experience with Project Management and related tools (e.g. GitHub work management and GitHub projects) 

Preferred technical and professional experience

·    Experience with releasing software in a large software product that utilizes a large squad structure

·    Experience in Kubernetes/RedHat OpenShift 

·   Familiar with software development: IBM (Cloud, On-premise or both)

·    Familiar with Release Management, software delivery or compliance

·    Experience with global teams and cross-time zone collaboration
