Backend Developer, IBM Corporation, Austin, TX (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted):
- Interact with microprocessor design teams and understand the challenges in building integrated circuits for each new generation of high-performance microprocessors.
- Research and design new algorithms for EDA (Electronic Design Automation) software tools and modify existing methodologies to satisfy requirements of microprocessor design teams.
- Investigate AI and Machine learning solutions to solving state of the art processor chip design.
- Perform specialized software engineering and code development using Object-Oriented programming, Full Stack Development, and Scripting Languages to deliver high quality EDA tools and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for designing integrated circuits.
- Implement AI and ML software solutions and industry standard tools.
- Define and train AI and ML models and using trained models to improve chip design.
- Use DevOps practices to test functionality and robustness of updated EDA tools in different user environments and release into production for use by microprocessor design teams.
- Ensure Agile Continuous Integration and Delivery by releasing software tools into production for use by microprocessor design teams.
- Work with microprocessor design teams and EDA development teams to provide end-to-end resolution of issues.
- Prepare and publish tools, project report status and user documentation in various forums.

Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Engineer or related.
