As a Mixed Signal Circuit Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, simulation, and verification of digital and mixed-signal circuits for various applications of IBM Systems chip development, focusing on array/memory designs of next generation IBM Z processors. You will work in a dynamic fast-paced environment, collaborating with other engineers to develop innovative solutions that meet project requirements and specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Circuit Design: Design digital circuits including decoders, latches, static and dynamic logic, and memory cells. Utilizing VHDL and CAD tools such as SPICE, Cadence Virtuoso, and custom tools for circuit design and simulation.
- Simulation and Verification: Perform circuit simulations to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability. Verify circuit designs through theoretical analysis and simulation.
- Layout Design: Collaborate with layout engineers to create physical layouts of the circuits considering factors such as parasitics, noise, and signal integrity.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design documentation including specifications, schematics, simulation results, and test reports. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including global digital design engineers, layout/mask designers, test engineers, and system architects to integrate circuits into overall system designs. Collaborate with manufacturing and product test engineers to ensure successful production of designed circuits.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest advancements in digital circuit design techniques, tools, and technologies. Apply new knowledge to improve design methodologies and drive innovation.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of digital circuits, including transistor-level behavior and device characteristics.
- Proficiency in VHDL and CAD tools such as SPICE and Cadence Virtuoso for circuit simulation and design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
- Experience in VLSI and analog circuit design.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
