Is responsible for analyzing, recreating, and resolving customer reported problems related to Db2 for z/OS. Analyzes complex problems in a disciplined manner and clearly communicates solutions and workarounds to customers. Provides technical support assistance directly to customers and/or IBM representatives using problem determination and technical analytical skills.
At least Batchelor degree in Software Engineering or similar area.
Have 5 years or more experience working with the mainframe z/OS operating system and Db2 for z/OS relational database system. Be proficient in SQL, REXX, and JCL.
Not a must have but prefer to have been familiar with one or more of the following:
- Some programming skill in high level language.
- Strong understanding of the principles of RDBMS
- Have passion to provide technical service diagnosing customer problems and providing solutions.
- Willing to work in flex hours if needed.
- Verbal and written proficiency in English.
Experience working with and diagnosing problems on IBM Z and/or Db2 for zOS.
