Roles and Responsibilities:
As a Hypervisor Validation Engineer in the IBM Power Systems Hypervisor Functional test team, you will be responsible for the functional verification of IBM hypervisor for Power servers. As needed, you are also expected to work with the Open POWER partners and Open BMC community for server virtualization validation and support.
As a Hypervisor Validation Engineer, you will work on testing, design and development of automation suites for validating different Hypervisor related subsystems of IBM Power Servers.
Design, develop and execute test plans for validating platform and virtualization management functions through command line and Graphical User interfaces.
Develop / maintain automation suites GUI and CLI demonstrating a strong understanding of underlying system design and using skills in Jenkins, GIT, Python / Perl.
Be a contributor in developing an environment for continuous improvement across product lines
Interact with the Development, System test teams and Product Engineers to define test plans and collect test data across teams
Analyse Automation reports; Identify and verify defects
Common skills required:
1.Must have good experience in Virtualization , Networking, I/O areas. 2.Must have experience in creating and managing Unix or Linux virtual machines using server management tools. 3.Must have experience in scripting languages (PERL, shell, Python) and should have experience in configuring and executing automated test suites. 4.Should have strong debugging skills. Should be able to isolate setup/configuration, hardware, scripts, product issues) 5.Should be able to write Test Plans from the Design Documents. 6.Working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as Agile & TDD Methodology 7.Must have experience with defect management tools like CQ and Test tracking tools üPrefer familiarity with general Hypervisor environment üFamiliarity with System P architecture, Server hardware knowledge is a plus
