IBM is seeking an experienced IT and Security Manager for a position in T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. This role will focus on defining, prioritizing, and driving the development of IT infrastructure and security operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and user needs. The candidate will manage the IT and security teams to create scalable, internal-developer-centered solutions that enhance operational efficiency and maintain security standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong skills in agile product management, backlog prioritization, and roadmap planning, with a keen understanding of IT infrastructure and security best practices.
The candidate will be responsible for translating product development team requirements into platform features, managing cross-departmental stakeholder communication, and optimizing the user experience in collaboration with IT, reliability, software, and network security teams. Good communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage complex product lifecycles are essential. A self-driven, organized individual who can balance strategic vision with day-to-day execution in a multi-team environment. 5+ years of experience in product management or related roles, ideally with a focus on IT infrastructure or security products.
Degree in information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
Proven experience managing medium-sized teams, fostering collaboration, and supporting career development across IT and security functions.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, Azure, AWS)
Knowledge of database technologies and administration.
Proficiency in source code management and version control, particularly with GitHub.
Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards, as well as practical knowledge of risk assessment and vulnerability management.
Solid knowledge of network management, systems administration, and general IT infrastructure.
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Automation Certifications).
Proven experience in product backlog management, roadmap planning, and agile methodologies.
Contributions in developer ecosystem/communities and open source projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
