IBM Think is IBM’s omnichannel media and events hub, bringing together content that generates awareness, engagement, impact and new digital relationships with visitors and clients. We’re building a team of creators, writers, journalists and technologists who can help people better understand and successfully adopt emerging technologies. We’ll do this by producing exclusive, high-quality content—explainers, feature articles, thought leadership, industry news and analysis, podcasts, newsletters, tutorials, demos and more—that help visitors make sense of new technologies and new ways or working, and connect them to ways IBM can help.
As a Production Editor you will join a team of in-house journalists and editors responsible for producing high-quality content about not just IBM but the tech sector at large, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI).
- Working closely with the Editorial Lead you will oversee content production and schedules, ensuring timely delivery of well-produced web stories and weekly email newsletters. This role involves setting and enforcing deadlines, coordinating with writers and editors, staging and publishing content and maintaining smooth workflows to meet publishing goals.
- The Production Editor will also contribute to content refinement, including writing and editing headlines and some articles, selecting compelling images and ensuring consistency with corporate style and branding, staying on top of changes.
- You will also collaborate with teams outside of the editorial organization on email production, so expertise in email content and marketing is essential, including understanding best practices in subject lines and maximizing engagement. Familiarity with content management tools such as Adobe Experience Manager and email platforms like Marketo is also essential.
- The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience working in collaborative editorial environments with teams of writers and editors. Experience in, and understanding of, AI and related technologies is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising, English or related field
- 5+ years of experience in an editorial or production role, ideally within a digital publishing or content marketing environment
- Proven track record of managing content production schedules and meeting tight deadlines
- Experience editing headlines, selecting images, and ensuring content adheres to style and branding guidelines
- Proficiency with content management systems, especially Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- Experience using email marketing platforms such as Marketo to manage and schedule email newsletters
- Experience in the tech or business industry, with a solid understanding of creating content for professional audiences.
