This position is with IBM z/OS System SSL. IBM z/OS is the premier mainframe operating system and System SSL is an important piece of security on the mainframe.

The zOS Security Organization (IBM Z) is looking for Software Developers (job role includes code design/writing, function test and system test) that are highly driven and technically prepared to join a world-class team which develops the most challenging and complex systems in the world. We develop, test and support the security related portion of the z/OS operating system concentrating on encryption and cryptographic key management. Nearly 100% of all credit card transactions, 92% of the top 100 global banks, 90% of Fortune 500 companies, and 80% of the world’s corporate data depend on the IBM Z. For a half-century, the mainframe has transformed how we travel, enabled secure banking, improved how city agencies service citizens, and dramatically reduced traffic congestion. We develop leading-edge technologies in managing data, Cloud technologies, system solutions, and hardware enablement that power the most secure and reliable system on the planet. Opportunities for Software Developers exist across the development life-cycle and include code design/writing, function test, and system test.

You’ll work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and test innovative applications, and support those applications for our highly valued customers. You’ll employ IBM’s Design Thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance, security, quality, and stability. You will design and code servers that are scalable and meet critical architecture goals. You’ll create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that are clean, well-documented, and easy to use.
You will design and implement large scale systems that enable continuous delivery.
ou are highly motivated and have a passion for creating and supporting great products.

You thrive on collaboration, working side by side with people of all backgrounds and disciplines, and have very strong verbal and written communication skills.

You are great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.

You have a basic understanding of software development and programming languages.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year. 

This position is eligible for participation in an IBM Sales Incentive plan. Actual incentive opportunity will be based on performance and the eligible Target Incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change. The compensation range listed for this position is the IBM Reference Salary that is used when you are not actively participating in a sales plan. Your actual base pay plus incentive opportunity will be determined by the Incentive Plan assigned to you.
