The Solution Architect team in IBM Technology Expert Labs plays a key role in addressing the client's functional, non-functional and technology implementation requirements with a solution design and proposal. Solution Architects are deep product experts that design the to-be architecture with products and services leveraging standards, best practices, and assets. This team works closely with clients, sellers and the delivery team to architect, propose and build technical solutions based on the client's desired business outcomes, IBM technology, and industry best practices.

As an IBM Technology Expert Labs Solution Architect for Data Platform, you will be part of a team of Solution Architects focused on designing solutions with IBM’s Data Platform technologies. You will work closely with clients and account teams to define technology solutions including technical architectures and technology services that meet the client's business goals. In this role, you will lead evaluation of the business needs and defining solutions with IBM technology, recommended target state architecture, roadmap to achieve target state and recommended Technology Expert Labs services leveraging services offering or custom SOW for the solution implementation. A successful Solution Architect will look for repeatable architecture patterns, automation, and assets to be deployed at scale.

- Providing end-to-end technical guidance to lead discovery discussions with clients, assess architecture needs for projects, work with clients and sellers to create solution proposals, and guide delivery teams during implementation.
- Assuming overall technical responsibility for the success of proposed solution design, solution content, and solution implementation.
- Identifying solution patterns that include software configuration, systems architecture, and related sizing in phases such as design, development, integration, production support and operations.
- Scaling the global Solution Architect team by creating or guiding the creation of reusable assets and accelerators.
- Being a trusted advisor at all levels – from engineers to CIOs – navigating challenging debates to reach healthy resolutions.
- Technology Skills: Skills and knowledge in IBM’s Data Platform technologies
- Track record of sizing and defining services focused solutions including functional and implementation requirements for phases such as design, development, integration, production support and operations.
- Client Stakeholder Credibility Building: Experience in building credibility and service orientation with client stakeholders.
- Primary Technology Expertise: Deep expertise in AI Governance Concepts with watsonx.governance skills, Data Lakehouse concepts with watsonx.data and overall Watsonx Platform architecture and capabilities. Expertise on Agentic AI Concepts with Watsonx Orchestrate skills is considered a plus.
- Client facing Experience: Experience working with clients in defining technology solutions.
