The IBM Instana team is looking for a Performance Senior Engineer to join our team in Kochi. At Instana, our primary goal is to process and analyze a vast amount of spans, traces, metrics, and events each second, enabling us to provide actionable APM intelligence to our rapidly expanding customer base. As a Performance Engineer at Instana, you will play a crucial role in designing strategies for scalable SaaS applications, optimizing the performance and reliability of our products, and collaborating with technical architects to align with best practices. Your efforts will involve architecting automation frameworks, conducting detailed performance analyses to identify key issues, and driving those issues to resolution by working closely with stakeholders. At IBM, you will use the latest software development tools, techniques, and approaches while collaborating with leading minds in the industry to build solutions you can be proud of.
· 10+ years of total experience with 5+ years in performance engineering roles.
· Must have 7+ years of expierence in two or more of the following technology areas: Java, C++, Python, SQL, Jmeter, Gattling
· Experience working with servers, applications and databases
· Experience working in cloud service providers like AWS, IBM Cloud, Google, Azure
· Experience with performing system performance and scalability testing. Able to drive performance optimizations and end-to-end improvements.
· Hands-on experience with performance testing and automation frameworks such as JMeter, Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber framework, JUnit, etc., including API automation.
· Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control tools (e.g., Git), and integrating performance testing into the development lifecycle.
· Ability to determine key performance metrics (e.g., throughput, latency, resource utilization) and establish performance benchmarks.
· Experience with Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and OpenShift.
· Skilled in debugging and profiling tools to analyze memory, CPU usage, and thread contention.
· Experience with Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and OpenShift.
· Experience in technically coaching and guiding junior performance engineers.
· Good communication skills and strong technical expertise.
