Our computer-using AI agents leverage breakthroughs in Large Language Models, Multimodal Learning, and Reinforcement Learning, integrating capabilities in natural language processing, computer vision, and interactive decision-making. By combining semantic understanding of web elements with advanced action planning, these agents aim to perform tasks that traditionally required significant human intervention.
Our summer internship program offers an opportunity to collaborate with IBM’s leading research team for a 3-month, full-time internship (5 days a week) at our labs in Haifa or Tel Aviv.

The field of computer-using agents represents a significant leap in leveraging AI to create intelligent systems capable of performing high-stakes business operations. Our research focuses on:
- Autonomous Decision-Making in Dynamic Environments: How can we design agents that reliably navigate and perform actions in unpredictable web-based systems? Our goal is to ensure agents are adaptive, robust, and able to handle real-world challenges efficiently.
- Trustworthiness and Safety in AI-Driven Automation: How do we ensure agents comply with enterprise-grade safety policies, making transparent and reliable decisions? We aim to build systems that are trusted by businesses for mission-critical operations.
- Advancing Human-AI Collaboration: How can we develop agents that seamlessly integrate into existing workflows, effectively communicating and collaborating with human operators to augment their capabilities?
- Optimizing Web Automation Using AI Models: By leveraging LLMs, computer vision, and transformer models, we focus on creating agents that not only replicate tasks but optimize and improve them through contextual understanding and learning.
We are seeking a motivated intern to join our research team and contribute to advancing computer-using agents. As an intern, you will:
- Design, develop, and refine cutting-edge AI agents and Agentic frameworks, incorporating advanced technologies such as LLMs, multimodal models, and reinforcement learning systems.
- Conduct rigorous experiments on leading benchmarks, including WebArena and BrowserGym, to assess and enhance the capabilities of AI agents.
- Curate datasets, fine-tune models, and showcase performance through early-stage prototypes for web-based automation solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of researchers and engineers to publish findings in top venues and drive innovation within IBM’s groundbreaking solutions.
Locations: IBM Research Lab, Israel (Haifa University Campus) or IBM Site, Hashahar Tower, Givataim (near Tel Aviv Arlozorov train station)
Our summer internship program offer you an opportunity to join our research team for 3 months internship (working 5 days a week) in either Haifa or Tel Aviv sites (according to each internship). During the internship, you will be working with our talented researcher on top projects, helping create the next generation of AI, security, quantum, cloud and much more.

- Current M.Sc. or Ph.D. student in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a specialization in AI.
- Proven expertise in key areas such as LLMs/VLLMs, Transformers, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, or Reinforcement Learning.
- Hands-on experience in implementing, training, and fine-tuning Transformers and LLMs.
