Work closely with clients to develop relationships, understand their needs, earn their trust and show them how IBM's industry leading solutions will solve their problems whilst delivering value to their business.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing Strategies for Power-related Infrastructure, Applications: Build strategies for clients in designing and technically building out infrastructure, applications, and power-related management.
- Defining and Detailing IBM Power Solutions: Design feasible IBM Power solutions that complement and enhance clients' existing tech stacks.
- Delivering Proof of Concepts: Deliver proof of concepts and simplify complex technical subjects for client education.
- Building Credibility and Trust: Through consultative methods at all levels, both internally and externally, to facilitate the closure of highly complex Cloud technology deals.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in UNIX-based operating systems, including but not limited to AIX, IBM i, and Linux, on IBM Power platforms.
- Familiarity with IBM Power Systems software tools, such as PowerVM, PowerVC, PowerHA, and other related technologies for virtualization, automation, and high availability.
- Understanding of enterprise workloads typically deployed on Power Systems, such as SAP HANA, Oracle, and AI/ML applications.
- Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and platforms like Red Hat OpenShift is a strong plus.
Pre-sales & Solution Design
- At least 2–3 years in a technical pre-sales or solution design role involving IBM Power Systems.
- Ability to assess customer needs and design tailored infrastructure solutions.
- Familiarity with alternative server platforms (e.g., x86, Oracle) to support solution differentiation.
- Experience preparing and delivering technical presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts.
Collaboration & Communication
- Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work closely with sales, services, and product teams to develop end-to-end solutions.
- Experience supporting RFPs, RFIs, and internal solution assurance processes.
- Experience with IBM Power10 systems and emerging Power-based solutions.
- Exposure to hybrid cloud environments, especially Red Hat OpenShift on Power.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Understanding of security and compliance best practices in enterprise infrastructure.
- Experience working with channel partners, system integrators, or in a partner-led sales model.
- Background in performance benchmarking, capacity planning, or TCO/ROI analysis.
- Participation in technical communities, user groups, or contributions to open-source projects related to Power Systems.
Certifications (plus)
- IBM Certified Technical Sales Specialist – Power Systems.
- Relevant certifications in Linux (Red Hat, SUSE) or virtualization technologies.
