We are seeking a talented Podcast Audio Engineer to ensure the highest audio quality for our podcast episodes across our IBM.com inbound content team. This role focuses on the technical and creative aspects of audio production, from recording setup to final mixing, helping deliver an exceptional listening experience. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in mixing, mastering and editing audio with experience troubleshooting technical issues and optimizing sound quality. General production skills and willingness to support podcast production in various capacities are essential.
Responsibilities
Edit raw audio files to remove errors, background noise, and interruptions while maintaining natural flow and pacing.
Record and manage high-quality audio during podcast sessions, troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
Mix and master podcast episodes to ensure consistent volume levels, clarity, and a professional sound.
Add music, sound effects, and other audio enhancements to enrich the listening experience.
Organize and maintain audio files in an accessible, structured system for future use.
Collaborate with producers and editors to align audio with creative vision and delivery timelines.
Proven experience in audio engineering or mixing, particularly for podcasts or similar media.
Proficiency with audio editing and mixing software such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or Logic Pro.
Deep understanding of audio recording, mixing, and mastering techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues under tight deadlines.
Attention to detail with a focus on delivering professional, polished sound.
Fluent English
Familiarity with recording platforms like Riverside.
Knowledge of sound design, including music and effects placement.
Basic understanding of file formats and compression for various platforms.
