We are seeking a motivated and analytical Competitive Strategist to support the IBM Data Platform team. This role focuses on researching market trends, tracking competitor moves, and assisting in the development of strategic insights that guide IBM’s portfolio direction. You will collaborate with other strategists and cross-functional teams to maintain competitive intelligence assets, contribute to market analysis, and help identify opportunities for innovation across the platform—from governance and integration to analytics and AI services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in researching trends across enterprise data platforms, AI services, governance frameworks, and integration tooling.
• Monitor competitor strategies, regulatory developments, and industry standards impacting data and AI adoption.
• Help develop and maintain strategic assets such as capability maps, market scans, and trend reports.
• Support cross-functional collaboration by sharing insights with Product Management, Engineering, Legal, and Marketing teams.
• Contribute to portfolio planning discussions by providing data-driven inputs and preliminary analysis.
• Prepare presentations and summaries for internal stakeholders to foster awareness and informed decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field.
• 0-1 year of experience in product strategy, market research, or competitive intelligence.
• Familiarity with concepts spanning data platforms, AI lifecycle management, and governance.
• Strong research and synthesis skills, with the ability to organize and present findings clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with curiosity and eagerness to learn about data and AI strategy.
• Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ year of experience in product strategy, market research, or competitive intelligence within enterprise software or AI/data space.
• Experience with enterprise AI or data platforms (e.g., IBM watsonx, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS).
• Exposure to IBM’s data and AI products
• Exposure to governance and compliance tooling is a plus.
