In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various data initiatives.
- Define entities, attributes, relationships, data types, and constraints to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Understand the business domain (Banking) and financial domain standards (BIAN / ISO 20022).
- Work closely with business stakeholders, business analyst and application development teams to gather and analyse data requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data models, including diagrams, data dictionaries, and metadata.
- Translate complex business requirements and technical specifications into comprehensive data models using industry best practices and modeling tools.
- Develop data mapping specifications and document data flows across systems.
- Establish and enforce data modelling standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
- Conduct data profiling and data quality assessments to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
- Contribute to metadata management and data dictionary.
- Optimize existing data models for performance, scalability, and efficiency, considering factors like indexing, partitioning, and storage.
- Work closely with database administrators and data engineers to implement and tune physical database designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data model and database-related performance issues
- Strong proficiency in data modeling methodologies and techniques (conceptual, logical, physical).
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management principles.
- Expertise in SQL and experience with any one or more relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
- Experience with data modelling tools such as ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling) and ETL processes.
- Experience with cloud-based data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
