As the DevOps Engineer for the Developer Platform, you will be instrumental in driving the organization's digital transformation by enhancing the developer platform, fostering a culture of collaboration, and promoting best practices in DevOps. Your expertise in DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and relevant technologies will be crucial in ensuring the success of the CIO Developer Platform and the overall developer experience.
As a DevOps Engineer for the CIO Developer Platform, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the developer experience, productivity, and satisfaction within the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing features and services that streamline the developer workflow, improve productivity, and foster a positive developer experience.
- Collaborating with development teams to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Designing and implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Maven, Ant, Gradle, Chef, Puppet, Docker, and UrbanCode.
- Automating, measuring, and optimizing system performance and processes to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of software.
- Designing and implementing tools for automated deployment and monitoring of multiple environments, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.
- Staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in DevOps and related technologies, and incorporating them into the development platform.
- Working closely with the CIO Developer Platform team to maintain focus and investment in tools critical to the organization's success.
- Ensuring security and compliance of the platforms, including patching, vulnerability detection, and threat mitigation.
- Providing on-call IT support and monitoring technical operations to maintain the stability and reliability of the developer platform.
- Collaborating with other teams to introduce best automation practices and tools, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Embracing an Agile culture and employing relevant fit-for-purpose methodologies and tools such as Trello, GitHub, Jira, Excel, and MS Project.
- Maintaining good communication skills and the ability to lead global teams remotely, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Resource should have 5+ years of experience in development/automation
- Strong problem solving/troubleshooting abilities
- Experience working with, developing and managing CI/CD pipelines with such technologies as Jenkins, Travis, Git
- Experience using & building containers and containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift
- Experience in one or more of the following: Python / Shell Scripting
- Linux administration skills, preferably in Debian and RHEL
- Experience working with infrastructure as code like Ansible
- Experience with distributed application concepts and highly scalable platforms is a plus
- Familiarity with methodologies for improving quality standards and automation is a plus
