IBM’s procurement function oversees $17B in annual spend for IBM and nearly $100B in spend for our BPO clients through our procurement BPO delivery team and seeks to continually drive savings and increased value. IBM procurement provides IBM and our clients with end-to-end S2P services including spend analytics, category strategy, strategic sourcing across multiple categories, tactical buying and procurement operations, all governed by robust and adaptable processes and procedures.IBM is currently undergoing a procurement transformation that will transform internal procurement, making it an exemplar of digital procurement featuring IBM’s automation and AI capabilities and leverage this Client Zero environment as the catalyst to bring these capabilities to our procurement BPO clients.
The Procurement Contract Specialist role is charged with generating and sending out contract templates to support the Routine Agreements Center of Excellence. Responsibilities include coordinating the review of routine procurement agreements, including confidentiality agreements and supplements, policy-driven agreements and equipment loan agreements. Key focus on effective communication, efficiency, and organization. Keys to success in this role include using automation and AI to handle and route tasks and agreements and becoming a strong support function to the sourcing teams around the globe. This role includes the following core responsibilities:
1. Generate and review purchasing-related agreements from standard templates, including confidentiality agreements, MSAs and SOWs.
2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, particularly Sourcing and Procurement Contracts teams to ensure templates are sent in a timely manner.
3. Provide contracts support and negotiate standard terms with suppliers and liaise with Procurement Contracts and Legal staff where appropriate.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records and documentation, including contract status and supplier contact information.
5. Actively monitor and work in Ariba for contract requests.
6. Collaborate with Procurement Contracts team to gather feedback and present changes to suppliers.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in contract administration, procurement, or a related field.
• Prior experience creating and reviewing legal contracts.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of partnering with senior stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
